Welcome to the Paignton Operatic and Dramatic Society Website.

The Society was founded in 1886 and is one of the twelve oldest Operatic Companies in the country and certainly the oldest in the West of England.    

Since its founding POADS have provided theatre goers in Paignton with many successful shows including, "Me and My Girl",  "My Fair Lady", "Salad days" "Pirates of Penzance" "Oliver" "Les Miserables" and "West Side Story" We also produce pantomimes.

We have a thriving youth section who took on the very different and diffucult productions"Les Miserables" and "West Side Story" . Both were extremely successful shows and ran to full houses in the recently refurbished Palace Theatre.

We perform concerts annually, mainly to support local charities.
